SEX DURING YOUR PERIOD?
No! A woman on her period
should avoid all sexual contact in order to protect the reproductive
health of both partners.
Your “period” or menstruation is a time when the vagina is
especially susceptible
to infection because the
discharge makes it less acidic and more hospitable to disease
bacteria. Menstrual blood
contains properties that contribute to “menstrual cramps” and the
physical and emotional
symptoms of PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome).
A woman on her menstrual
cycle releases toxic substances that are harmful to living cells and
tissues. Scientific
research that confirms that having sexual intercourse with a woman on
her
menstrual cycle will
greatly increase the chances of contracting a STD (Sexually Transmitted
Disease). (continued on
page 3)
Should a woman have sexual
relations during her period?

THINGS MY
MAMMA NEVER
TOLD ME!
Teeorah B. N. Shaleahk
I know my Momma loved me,
not only because
she told me, but she
showed me. She did the best she could to understand her baby girl in
this crazy
mixed up world. At the
tender age of three by her side is where she kept me when I wanted to be
free
and climb trees she showed
me how to “act like a lady” - stockings and skirts, whenever I was
bloody or
bruised she took time to
mend the hurt. She taught me how to braid, write, ride a bike, and fly a
kite.
She taught me how to use a
needle and thread, showed me how to care for the first time I spotted
red.
She picked me up early
from school when I had cramps and wanted to come home. All the things my
Momma told me gave me
serenity… ..until I got grown.
That is….I remembered
how my mother loved me, all the
things she showed…yet I’m
feeling unequipped because
there were many things my
Momma NEVER told me. My
Momma never told me that
this society and its capitalistic
mentality perpetuated
itself by preying on my insecurities.
She never told me that my
childhood desire to be her oneand-
only baby would later
manifest in a relationship as jealousy
and that eventually I
would begin to question the motives
of every man that
approached me. My Momma never told me the right time to have sex. Never
told me how to say no or
when to say yes.
My Momma never told me how
to confidently express what I want, never told me to abstain
from sex during that
special time of the month. Not that I ever thought that having sex while
on my
cycle was a good idea, but
this guy that I had been dating for almost a year and well…it wasn’t
planned
but now looking back on it
I understand how the things my momma never told me would eventually
cause me to contract a
S.T.D. Now don’t misunderstand me I’m not blaming my momma for the
things
she never told me… she
told me what she knew, but now I know that my daughter will never go
through the pain of
ignorance. For her not having sex on her cycle won’t be a myth it will
be common
sense! She won’t have to
guess when it comes to sex…and if I have a son my work as a mother won’t
be done until he too knows
the dangers of sex during that “special time of the month” I will
teach him
to look beyond what he
wants and think about the risk of catching an S.T.D. I will teach him
all the
things
MY MOMMA NEVER TOLD ME!

SEX DURING YOUR PERIOD?
(cont’d.)
“Menotoxin”, defined
as toxin(s) or poison(s) is found in menstrual discharge.
Menstrual blood contains
toxic properties that would be fundamentally
responsible for the
causation of dysmenorrheal “menstrual
cramps” and the
physical/emotional symptoms of PMS (pre-menstrual
syndrome). While not
entirely eliminated with menstruation, their systemic
absorption would be able
to cause some of the general symptoms
that often accompany the
menstrual flow. Menstrual blood can also increase
the poisonous effects of
female genital microbes, including gonococcus
and herpes. It is known
that menstruation promotes the recurrence
of catamenial herpes
(herpes outbreak during menstruation).
DOCTOR’S CORNER
Menstruation can indicate
diseases as well as your state of wellness.
According to Dr. Llaila
O. Afrika, there are NINE TYPES OF MENSTRUATION.
Below is the first type
and the subsequent types will be published in future newsletters
TYPE 1:
Discomfort before, during
and after menstruation. Cramping, nervous tension and pain during
menstruation with no
discomfort before the cycle.
Probable Cause:
Liver stress, low
estrogen, or not having enough raw food in your diet. The lack of water
and exercise
which create an unbalanced
life can also cause this condition. High progesterone can be another
cause.
When you have high
progesterone, your breast may be tender and you may have acne during
your cycle.
STRAIGHT FROM THE BIBLE
Lev 15:19-20 And if a
woman has an issue, and her issue is her fleshly blood, she
shall be put apart seven
days: and whosoever touches her shall be unclean until
the evening. And
everything that she lies upon in her separation shall be unclean:
everything also that she
sitteth upon shall be unclean.
We are excited to announce
